Who do you work with?
I work with authors who value thoughtful, intentional creative work and want their books and author presence to feel cohesive and distinctly their own. I have a particular love for fantasy and imaginative fiction, but I’m open to working across a variety of fiction genres. Every project is considered individually to determine whether it’s a good fit for Koi Editorial Studio.
Which editing service do I need?
That depends on the current state of your manuscript and what you want to accomplish. Developmental editing focuses on the big picture, including plot, character development, pacing, worldbuilding, and narrative cohesion. Line editing focuses on clarity, flow, voice, and style. Copy editing focuses on grammar, punctuation, consistency, usage, and correctness. Proofreading is the final review for remaining errors and inconsistencies.
If you're unsure which level of editing your manuscript needs, that's completely fine. We'll discuss your project and determine the best fit together.
What genres do you edit?
I have a particular love for fantasy, but I’m open to working with a variety of fiction genres. Because every project is different, I consider the genre, scope, and needs of each manuscript when reviewing an application.
How much does editing cost?
Editing is priced according to the word count, condition of the manuscript, level of editing required, and overall scope of the project. Because every manuscript requires a different amount of editorial attention, I provide individualized pricing after discussing your project and determining the appropriate level of editing.

How much does custom book cover art cost?
Custom digital book cover art starts at $1,500, while traditional artwork starts at $2,500.
These are starting prices based on the scope of the artwork. More elaborate compositions, additional characters, detailed environments, or complex visual elements may increase the final investment.
A personalized quote will be provided after we discuss and agree upon the scope of your project.
How much does web design cost?
Koi Editorial Studio offers several Showit web design options depending on the level of customization and scope you need:
Template Customization — $567
A customized Showit template tailored to your needs.
Website in a Day — $1,797
A polished five-page Showit website designed and completed in one day.
Website in a Week — $2,967
A more comprehensive eight-page Showit website designed and completed over seven days.

Because the Suite encompasses three substantial creative stages, the final investment is individually determined based on the word count and scope of your editing needs, the complexity and scope of your custom book cover art, and the requirements of your Showit website.
We'll discuss your project together and establish the exact scope and investment before your project begins.
How long does The Harmony Suite take?
The Harmony Suite typically takes approximately three months, depending on the scope of the project.
Because every project is different, the timeline may vary based on manuscript length and editing needs, the complexity of the cover artwork, website requirements, revisions, and other project-specific considerations.
The Suite is completed in three stages:
01 — Fiction Editing
02 — Custom Book Cover Art
03 — Showit Web Design
This sequential approach allows each stage to inform the next.
Can I pay for The Harmony Suite in installments?
Yes. The Harmony Suite can be paid in full upfront or divided into three milestone payments.
The three payments correspond with the major stages of the creative process:
01 — Reserve
Due upon signing to secure your place on the Koi Editorial Studio client roster.
02 — Create
Due at the beginning of the editing phase.
03 — Unveil
Due at the beginning of the web design phase.
The exact payment amounts will be based on your finalized project investment.
How do I get started?
Start by completing the Apply form. Tell me about your project, your creative vision, the services you're interested in, and your goals.
I'll review your application personally and, if your project appears to be a good fit, we'll move forward with discussing the scope, timeline, and next steps.
How is my final price determined?
Final pricing is based on the specific scope and needs of your project.
For fiction editing, this may include manuscript word count, condition, genre, and the level of editing required.
For book cover art, pricing may depend on the number of characters, composition, environment, level of detail, medium, and other visual elements.
For Showit web design, pricing may depend on the number of pages, level of customization, and functionality required.
For The Harmony Suite, all three areas are considered together before your final investment is established.
What happens after I apply?
I'll review your application personally to learn more about your project and determine whether it may be a good fit for Koi Editorial Studio.
If we appear to be a good match, I'll be in touch with the next steps. We'll discuss your project in greater detail, determine the appropriate scope of work, establish your timeline and investment, and move forward with a contract if we decide to work together.
Submitting an application does not obligate you to book a service.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Koi Editorial Studio works with authors remotely, so you can work together regardless of where you're located.
Communication, editorial work, creative development, and web design can all be handled remotely, allowing the process to remain collaborative without requiring you to be in the same location.
Can I book individual services?
Absolutely.
You do not need to purchase The Harmony Suite to work with Koi Editorial Studio. Fiction editing, custom book cover art, and Showit web design are all available individually.
The Harmony Suite is for authors who want to bring all three services together through one cohesive creative experience.
Can I apply if my manuscript isn't finished?
Yes, you can still apply. However, the appropriate time to begin the editing portion of your project will depend on the current stage of your manuscript.
If your manuscript is still in the drafting stage, we may determine that it's best to wait until the draft is complete or sufficiently developed before beginning formal editing.
You don't need to have everything figured out before applying. We can discuss where you are in the process and determine the best next step together.
Do you work with self-published authors?
Yes. Koi Editorial Studio welcomes independent and self-published authors, as well as authors pursuing traditional publishing.
Whether you're preparing a manuscript for submission, getting ready to independently publish, or building your author presence after publication, services can be tailored to the stage you're currently in.
Will my author voice be preserved during editing?
Absolutely. Your voice belongs to you.
My role as an editor is not to rewrite your story in my voice, but to help you strengthen the story you're trying to tell. I approach editing with the goal of providing thoughtful, clear, and actionable feedback while respecting your creative choices and individual authorial voice.
